Abuja, Oct. 26, 2016 (NAN) The Federal Ministry of Justice has arraigned 10 suspects in an FCT High Court for alleged armed robbery.
They are; Ike Okonkwo, Moses Saul, Basil Augustine, Ezihe Ubadi, Henry Obiezue, Promise Markus, Paul Edward, Abdulkarim Zuberu, Sunday Emmanuel and Ibrahim Suleiman.
They were arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on July 23 and were handed over to ministry for prosecution.
The offence contravened Section 1(1) of the Special Anti-Robbery and Firearms Law of the Federation 2004
At the resumed hearing on Wednesday, Counsel to the defendants, Mr Isaac Paul, informed the court that there was an application before it to admit the defendants on bail.
Paul said the offence was bailable and prayed the court to release the defendants unconditionally.
He told the court that the defendants were only handpick by SARS at different location during one of their raid in Abuja
According to Paul, investigation has shown that the defendants never committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution.
Justice Othman-Angulu Musa, however, adjourned the case till Nov. 2 for ruling on the bail application. (NAN)
