Seventeen persons died as a result of complication arising from corona virus disease in Nigeria on Saturday May 2, 2020, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced.
In a new case results announced on Saturday night, the NCDC said that deaths arising from the corona virus disease reached 85, 17 deaths more than 68 announced on the night of Friday May 1, 2020.
It also released statistics of new cases as it affects states, indicating that Lagos accounts for 62 new infections against the figure of 30 annnounced on Friday, May 1, 2020.
Kano which recorded the highest figure of 92 on Friday, was absent on the list released by the NCDC on Saturday night.
However, Abuja recorded 52, Kaduna 31, Sokoto 13, Kebbi 10, Yobe nine and Borno six.
Edo state recorded five new cases, Bauchi five, Gombe four, Enugu four, Oyo four, Zamfara three, Nasarawa two, Osun two, Ebonyi two, Kwara two, Kano two and Plateau two.
The NCDC said that the figure put together raised the new cases of the Coronavirus diseas to 220, with a total national figure of 2388 and discharged persons at 385 while death has reached 85.
