Former Enyimba forward, Chibuzor Ozurumba is not one of those who have written off Enyimba ahead of next week’s CAF Confederation Cup semi final decider against RAJA in Rabat.
Enyimba last week suffered a 0-1 home defeat in the hand of the top Moroccan side, a situation that now makes the People’s Elephants to now walk on tight rope.
Ozurumba who helped Enyimba to conquer Africa in the money spinning CAF Champions League in 2003 told newsreportersng.com that Enyimba can turn the table in Rabat and romp into the final.
He noted that Enyimba has been in similar situations in the past and know how to survive such battle.
“This is not the first time Enyimba would be in this kind of tight situation. They know how to survive this kind of situation. They have the players and management team that know what to do. RAJA may have won the Aba first leg but they are beatable at home. What Enyimba needs to survive is the right motivation. If the players are fired up, they would get the job done,” Ozurumba said.
The Imo State born Shell Cup product stated that Enyimba has so far done a good job this term noting that reaching the last four of the CAF Confederation Cup was in itself an achievement, given the fact that the other Nigerian clubs in the continent failed to go beyond the first round.
“Enyimba deserves a pat on the back for their fine run. I still believe they can go all the way to reach the final and lift the cup. But Abia State government must be ready to play her part for that to happen by motivating the boys,” Ozurumba said.
