Agency reports say attacks from two bombers have left many dead in Damboa town of Borno state, explaining that the attackers were said to have launched their attacks only few hours after the chief of Army staff, Tukur Buratai, appealed to some internally displaced persons in the state to return to their communities.
Newsreportersng.com learnt from witnesses on ground that two explosions from the bombers were followed by rockets attacks on the village on Saturday evening and there were indication that the casualty figure could reach 31 with many others injured.
It was gathered that the attackers struck in Abacahri village, along Damboa/Chibok road, while the residents were returning from the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The injured and are currently receiving treatment in Damboa General Hospital.
Efforts to reach the Borno state command regarding the incident have not been successful.
