Eid el Kabir: Police deploy 200 personnel to check criminals in Lagos

In a bid to ensure a crime-free eid el kabir celebration in Lagos, The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has deployed no fewer than 200 policemen, to monitor the situation in the state.
Displaying the force’s prowess in crime prevention within the metropolis the Lagos Command of the police led by Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP in- charge of operations,Mr Titilayo Kayode, went round the state to warning would be trouble makers during the season to stay clear.

The show of force saw police operatives and their patrol vehicles drawn from virtually all area commands and divisions pf the force across the state and the moving in convoy display the force’s hardware and literally warning criminals that

Soldiers attached to the Lagos security initiative commonly called Operation Mesa (OP Mesa) were also part the show of force to depict the inter agency cooperation between the policemen and its sister agencies.

The convoy kicked off from Ikeja and other trouble areas such as Ipaja, Abule Egba Abattoir in Agege, to check the situation report of the market after the clash between Hausa’s and Fulani’s, which claimed lives.

Others were deployed to Ekpe,Ikorodu,Igandu,Lagos Island and simultaneously signalling the readiness of the police command to counter any threat to security.

The state Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), Dolapo Bamdos, a Superintendent of Police,(SP) said the show of force was to show the command’s readiness to counter any threat by criminals in the state.
According to Badmos, it was also to assure the citizens of the safety of lives and properties within the state.

She said, “The command in a bid to ensure safety and security of lives and property within lagos state has put up various operational strategies to realise this course, part of this is the operation show of force”

” This operation will be done in all the Area commands of the state. The aim is to dominate the security space of the state and to ensure police visibility during and after the sallah celebration.”
She enjoined lagosians to enjoy their sallah celebration as the command and its sister agencies would protect the state of any criminal attack.
