Ikpeazu watches Enyimba train at home…Assures team of total support

By George Aluo
Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu this morning paid a surprise visit to Enyimba as they trained for the first time in over three years at their Aba fortress.
Ikpeazu who was visibly impressed with the lush green turf constructed by Monimichelle assured Enyimba players of maximum support as they continue their quest to conquer Africa in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Ikpeazu said he would provide whatever the boys need to do well.
In his words: “Be rest assured that I will give you total support. I got wind of your being in town on radio and decided to start my day here with you,” Ikpeazu said.
Club chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu who was first to speak thanked the governor for taking the cub to the next level with the stadium facility. He noted that Enyimba has been poor in the area of infrastructure, before Ikpeazu stepped in to wipe away the shame.
Anyansi said the team had before feeling the new turf for the first time re dedicated the arena to God.
“We started by re dedicating this Stadium, especially our brand new pitch to God and we are confident as christians that God will crown our efforts with success.”
Captain of the side Mfon Udoh was full of praise for Gov Ikpeazu, even as he assured him that they would hand him the CAF Confederation Cup diadem. He said the players are happy to stage a return home after playing away for some years.
Udoh specifically urged the governor to provide them with a new bus for their away trips as they have been traveling on a not too comfortable note.
The CEO of Monimichelle, Ebi Egbe on his part said he is happy that the Enyimba project has finally been realized, even as he added that he is confident the club would get CAF’s nod to host CARA of Congo there on August 29.
Enyimba has officially written CAF to inform them of their plans to return to their Aba home.
