Vice chairman of Imo FA , Emman Ochiagha has given a pat on the back to NFF boss, Amaju Melvin Pinnick describing his rising profile in international football as good for the country.
Ochiagha who contested the Katsina September 20 polls to be on the board of NFF said he is happy Congress returned Pinnick as NFF president declaring that he did well in his first tenure to merit a second term.
“I congratulate Pinnick on his victory and I m happy with the wave he is making in both CAF and FIFA. His rise is good for our football because we now have a voice outside the field of play,” Ochiagha said.
The Imo FA Vice Chairman urged Pinnick to ensure he brings all stakeholders to be on the same page now that the elections are over since unity is what is needed to move the game forward.
Ochiagha stressed that he has since on his part put behind him all that happened in Katsina declaring that just like on the field of play, you win some and lose some.
“The important thing is that we should all as stakeholders come together to move the game forward.
Pinnick was on Monday in Zurich “welcomed” back to the FIFA family after winning the NFF election back home.
It would be recalled that in the city of Katsina, an overwhelming majority of members of the Nigerian Football Congress endorsed Pinnick for a fresh four –year term.
On Sunday, 30th September 2018, the NFF supremo was formally inaugurated as 1st Vice President of the Confederation of African Football, taking his place beside CAF President Ahmad at the 12th CAF Extra-Ordinary General Assembly in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
