The Adron Games billed for next week at the Yaba College of Technology Sports Complex would be graced by a good number of the nation’s ex internationals.
This much was disclosed yesterday by technical consultant to the event, Waidi Akanni.
Akanni in a chat with NewsReportersng.com said former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia who is the games ambassador would be joined by so many other ex internationals to light up the event billed to run from October 12-14.
“The Adron Games is going to attract so many ex internationals. Siasia, the games ambassador and myself would be joined by several ex internationals. It would be three days of sports and entertainment. So many ex internationals have resolved to be part of the event because they share the vision of the organizers who are using sports to promote healthy living.”
Akanni further disclosed that students of the University of Lagos and Yaba College of Technology would do battle in what the organizers have tagged “College Challenge.”
“The College Challenge is one that would see students of Unilag and Yabatech do a 100m and 200m relay race in both male and female categories,” Akanni said.
Other activities for the games would include a March pass, track and field events with contestants grouped in four different teams and a soccer competition with six regions namely, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, Ogun, Ibadan, FCT Abuja and the Adron Head Office.
There will also be an Adron Building Challenge involving members of the public, who would be shortlisted into teams and challenged with the task of building together a given structure within a specified time.
