Ejindu who spoke from his base moments after Eagles manager Gernot Rohr released his provisional 30-man squad said the Eagles can not afford to fail Nigerians who are in dire need of something to celebrate after all the ugly news coming out of the country.
“I will like the Eagles to shock the world in Russia by reaching the semi final. That way, Nigerians can celebrate and forget what they are passing through.”
Ejindu pointed out that reaching the last four is not a mission impossible if Gernot Rohr can get his boys to play as a unit.
Hear him: “The Eagles must play collectively. Not to be selfish. The players must pass the ball when they have to, rather than seeking to shine as an individual. They must be aggressive on and off the ball. Russia is not a place to show off individual skill at the detriment of the team. The players must all be team players…team work wins.”
Ejindu who bankrolls the annual ex- Rangers convention in the United States concluded by saying…”I hope this year’s World Cup campaign will turn a new leaf for Nigerian soccer.”
It would be noted that Ejindu played a major role when Rangers broke their over thirty year old trophy jinx in 2016 when they won the NPFL title. He motivated the Flying Antelopes with mouth watering winning bonuses after every game.
The Charlotte, North Carolina based business man also supported the Dream Team to win bronze at the Rio 2016 Olympics. He bailed the team tutored by Samson Siasia out with the needed funds at a time they were stranded in USA enroute Brazil.
