Micah Xavier Johnson, the man who sources say was the gunman who was killed in the Dallas ambush, was trained in the Army Reserve as a carpentry and masonry specialist, two U.S. defense officials said.
Like all soldiers, he would have received basic firearms training, but it is unclear whether he received more advanced training. He was in the Reserve at time of his death, and all indications are he was a junior enlisted soldier, CNN’s Barbara Starr reported. His military service record is being sent to law enforcement.
Johnson who was killed in the Dallas ambush was 25, and came from Mesquite, Texas, law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation said
