A woman who allegedly beat her 16 year-old son to death is at the moment cooling off in the cell of the Nigeria Police Force Ogun State command.
The woman identified as Mrs. Bisola Olukoya of 40, Ifelodun Street Onifade, Itele in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the State, was arrested for allegedly beaten her 16 year old son, Toheeb Olukoya to death.
According to a release by the Police spokesman in Ogun state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the incident happened on the March 17 when the suspect, while beating the deceased, used plank to hit him on the head, consequence upon which the boy fell down and gave up the ghost.
Oyeyemi, an ASP, added that the suspect, having realized what she had done, hurriedly buried the deceased in connivance with her husband and fled home.
He explained further that immediately the information got to the police, the DPO of Itele Division, CSP Lukmon Adejumo, led detectives to investigate and the suspect was later traced and arrested at Iyana Ipaja in Lagos State.
The PPRO, however, said the State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu directed that the suspect should be transferred immediately to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, while appealing to the parents to always watch their temperament especially when correcting their wards.
