The United States of America (USA) based patron of Rangers International of Enugu, Chief Benson Ezeomeogo Ejindu (MVP) has disclosed that he would soon storm Enugu ostensibly to spoil players and officials of the club a little, over their Aiteo Cup victory.
Ejindu who in 2016 also hosted the Flying Antelopes to a lavish party after they broke their 32- year old trophy jinx, winning the NPFL shield, said he would do it again, even as he commended the team for doing Ndi Enugu and the entire Ndi Igbo proud.
“I m coming home soon to host Rangers as I did when they won the league shield. I say congrats to the team,” Ejindu stated in an email to newsreportersng.
Ejindu, fondly called “MVP” by admirers further charged Rangers to do well in the continent as they fly Nigeria’s flag in the CAF Confederation Cup insisting that Rangers can re enact their 1977 feat when they conquered Africa in the same competition.
“My desire is to see Rangers do well in the continent. The Enugu state government should support the team and give them all they need to rule Africa. Gov Ugwuanyi has done well for the club and also deserves a pat on the back,” Ejindu stated.
Rangers would in their first match of the CAF Confederation Cup face Defence FC of Ethiopia in Enugu on November 27 with the return leg billed for Adis Ababa, Ethiopia early December.
It is recalled that Rangers failed to make it to the group stage of the CAF Champions league in 2017 when the flew Nigeria’s flag in the money spinning competition.
