The Coal City of Enugu would come alive on Saturday when the annual convention of the old students of College of Immaculate Conception (CIC) holds in the college premises.
A patron of the alumni body, Benson Ezeomeogo Ejindu (MVP) who is coming in from the United States of America (USA) for the event, disclosed that just like the 2017 convention, this year’s event would see the body commissioning a new project.
“Our mission first and foremost is to ensure that CIC remains a great college. We want to see the students learn under a very conducive atmosphere and that is why we are doing what we are doing. We are going to commission a brand new hostel that is solar powered. The edifice is 100 percent ready,” Ejindu stated.
It would be noted that the alumni body last year commissioned a N500m multi purpose hall with a pledge to return this year (2018) to commission another project, a promise that is to be fulfilled on Saturday.
The alumni body would use the event to honour some personalities that have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavors.
Ejindu was however quick to add that the body is apolitical as it does not support any candidate, especially as the 2019 election draws near.
“We would be bestowing the College’s prestigious merit award on some individuals during the convention,” Ejindu stated, adding that those to be honored were not picked on political grounds.
