ASFU out to change the face of Varsity football -Don

As part of efforts to ensure the growth of football among students on the continent,International Student Football Union (ISFU) has unveilled the African Student Football Union(ASFU) in Nigeria.
At the unveiling held at the Sports Bar of the Teslim Balogun stadium in the presence of the 1st Vice President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi,the Union officials said their vision is to help the nation and African soccer authorities to discover more student footballers.
Speaking at the unveiling, Edmond Osio, Deputy Director General,International Student Football Union Russia commended the project coordinator in Africa,Professor Seun Omotayo for doing a good job. He urged Nigerian and African Universities to queue into the project now that it has been launched in Nigeria.
“This lunch marks the begining of a new era in students football in Africa. We will need all hands to be on deck, both cooperate, government and especially the higher institutions to get it right,” Osio said.
Responding, Professor Seun Omotayo expressed optimism that the project would be a huge success, even as he added that the ASFU initiative is primarily to promote football at the university level.
“I m happy to see Nigeria play a leading role in the ASFU project in Africa,” Professor Omotayo said.
