Things have continued to look up for the organizers of the maiden edition of Africa Youth Cup billed for early next year in Cape Verde as they have struck a deal with referees body, Tournaments Abroad.
Going by the deal, Tournaments Abroad referees would take charge of officiating in Cape Verde.
Executive Director of Serahanasports, Newman Ebiegberi whose outfit is organizing Cape Verde 2019 disclosed yesterday that he had during the recently concluded PARIS WORLD GAMES met and sealed the referees deal with the President of Tournaments Abroad, Daniel Curcio.
“We have officially agreed that Tournaments Abroad will manage the referees department for the Africa Youth Cup, the first tournament of its kind in Africa, which will take place in Cape Verde in April 2019,” Ebiegberi stated.
Curcio on his part commended Serahanasports for the good job they are doing.
In his words: “It was great to meet Newman Ebiegberi, executive director of Serahana Sports, during this year’s PARIS WORLD GAMES. For many years Serahana Nig has been a trusted partner for Europe’s main football tournaments, bringing to the continent many African teams. Our involvement in Cape Verde 2019 will mark TA’s arrival in Africa and we look forward to working with the local federation in developing the up-and-coming African referees of the future. More details about this and other new tournaments for 2019 will be published on www.refereeabroad.com after the summer.”
