Enyimba are in good shape ahead of this weekend’s away tie against Rwandan side Rayon Sports, this much, was confirmed to us by Coach Usman Abdalla yesterday.
But the coach did confess exclusively to NewsReportersng.com that the absence of defense strongman Mohammed Farouk is one he is not too comfortable with.
“We will miss Farouk, but the good thing is that we’ve got other capable legs. We will improvise in his absence,” Abdalla said.
Farouk would be playing no role in Kigali, no thanks to two yellow cards, the last of which he bagged in the home game against CARA of Congo last month.
On the Kigali battle, Abdalla said he is confident the team would come out of it unscathed and return home to finish the job of qualifying for the semi final.
“We have worked on our areas of weakness and perfected strategies for the match. We hope to keep improving with every game,” Abdalla said.
Enyimba are billed to jet out today for Kigali where they would on Sunday face Rayon Sports in the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The People’s Elephants are the only Nigerian club still in the continent this term. The club which have been playing away from their Aba fortress in the last three seasons made a return home last month after the completion of work at their stadium.
