Former Gombe Gov dies

Abubakar Hashidu, a former governor of Gombe state, has reportedly died at the age of 74.
A family member of the deceased told the media that the ex-governor died on Friday morning, July 27, at his home in Gombe after suffering Alzheimers disease for some years and that he would be buried by 5pm on Friday evening.
Hashidu governed Gombe state from May 1999 to May 2003 on the platform of then All Peoples Party (APP). The deceased once served as a minister of water resources as well a minister of agriculture and rural development during the military regime of Ibrahim Babangida. He was also appointed by Sani Abacha as a member of the vision 2010 committee set up by late head of state.
