The new head coach of Enyimba, Usman Abdalla is confident his side would survive this weekend’s away battle against youthful Ivorian side, Williamsville.
Abdalla who had after the first first in Port Harcourt praised Williamsville for putting up a good fight said it would be a different ball game in Abidjan.
“Before the first leg we didn’t know what to expect from Williamsville. We are going into the second leg with a good knowledge of the team. We now know the right strategy to adopt and how to curtail them right in front of their fans. They are a very youthful side, full of energy. We know what to do to get the result we need away,” Abdalla said.
Enyimba, CAF Champions League winners in 2003 and 2004, are currently top of the group standings with six points.
A contingent of the People’s Elephant arrived Lagos on Thursday and are billed to fly out today, Friday July 27.
Abdalla will be in charge after succeeding Paul Aigbogun at the club. The CAF Confederation Cup is the only continental silverware missing in Enyimba’s trophy cabinet.
Midfielder Ikechukwu Ibenegbu is not making the trip over a recurring knee injury.
