The super powers have continued to evacuate their citizens from Nigeria as the figures for the case of coronavirus increased daily in the country and even in their own country.
Within the last five days, United States, Britain, and Israel have evacuated their citizens from Nigeria, with the latest evacuation being the an American citizen who had earlier tested positive to the disease.
The State of Israel evacuated its citizens from Nigeria following the rising level of coronavirus cases, with an aircraft allegedly picking some Israelis at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, before stopping over at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja to pick more citizens.
Similarly, the United States has followed suit with the evacuation of an American who tested positive for coronavirus has been.
Germany and France had also evacuated their nationals following the rising cases of coronavirus disease in the country.
Experts say that the evacuation of the foreign nationals by the Embassies and High Commission is not out of place as it is the policy of some countries not to put their nationals at risk.
Ayodele Akinkunmi an medical practitioner said the evacuation is a strong message to Nigeria to fix its health system, to gain the trust of the the international community.
Also Ikechukwu Chukwuma, a lawyer said it is the right of those country to evacuate their citizens, especially in the wake of Nigeria’s dilapidated health infrastructure.
“If you remember, our politicians usually go to the western world to get better health care, so why do we want the western world now to remain with us when they already known the state of health system.
